Aim: To love God, for giving us His faithful word.
Doctrine: The words of God are lovingly designed to warn and restore sinners. God's churchmen should never lose heart, so long as there is a gospel; and God would have His children stick with the Bible (as their primary tool).
Exegesis: God's gracious use of His book: He looks to be merciful to those who believe it (vv. 1-3); He will hear the prayers of those who believe it (vv. 4-8); He gives it to all His church, so that they might believe it (vv. 9-10).
Further application: Godly attitudes to adopt, regarding the scriptures: be thankful that they are written, and unchangeable; and be respectful of all the words of God (even the ''hard'' ones).
Key verse: v. 2 ''Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.''
