You don't have to love your own money to be a lover of money,.. you can love another man's money and be just as guilty, twice so actually, in covetousness.
The God of the poor bids repentant sinners to come and be reconciled to Him through His Son, Who was brought before the courts of the rich men of this world, falsely accused, tortured, and killed. This same God is He who humbled Himself and for your sakes became poor, and had no place to lay His head. He took the riches of His own righteousness before the Judge of heaven and earth, and paid the immeasurable debt of your sin, in full, with His own blood. When He came, he had no form nor comeliness, no beauty that we should desire him, no radiant or magnificent robes or fingers crowded with too many gold rings, he had neither place among, nor preference with, the rich rulers of His day. He was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Today, we see, He has brought many sons unto glory and made many of the poor in this world rich in faith, who otherwise would have no riches to speak of.
