I read a small portion of Augustine’s Confessions where in Book 8 he vividly describes the moment when God rescued him from his bondage to sin. This wonderfully illustrates how necessary the new birth is. You can be well-liked, educated, have a godly mother, and so much going for you, as Augustine did, but you still must be born again! Be encouraged parents, God is regenerating his elect ones throughout the earth today. God is mighty to save!
