Today is Father’s day. This is a day that stirs up many emotions. There was a man who was responsible for bringing you into the world. Some men have accepted their role and some have abandoned their God-ordained role in the family. A father’s role in the family can be one of great blessing or bring a great curse. A man needs to realize the impact he makes on his home. If there is a call going out today, it would be similar to the one God sent out to Adam, “Man, where are you?” Where are the men—in the home, in the church, in the community? There is a crucial need for men to rise up as Joshua did and proclaim, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD (Joshua 24:15).” We need more men who will worship the Creator and Redeemer with a whole heart. A thousand goods would result from men operating as the spiritual leaders, providers, and protectors of their homes. We often speak of a mother’s love, but there are millions who are craving the tender love of a father. Men, you are needed, wanted, and crucial to the direction of your family today and for the future. |
