We have been blessed in Christ to be responsible to God, our families, each other in the church, and as a witness in the world. As we move forward this morning in our series From Rags to Riches, let’s consider again Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” Today, our focus is going to be on “the forgiveness of sins.” Can you say today, “In Christ, I am Forgiven.” •Have you ever said, “I just can’t forgive myself?” •Have you ever held a grudge toward someone else? •Have you ever had resentment toward another person? •Are you an angry person? •Have you ever been critical of others and blind to your own sins? •Are you able to easily create a list of the hurts that others have caused you? •Is your heart filled with bitterness? •Are you carrying a heavy backpack filled with the sins of your past that continue to haunt you? •Do you believe that you can be released from these toxic thoughts and emotions?
If you struggle in one of these areas, then I want you to listen carefully to what the Apostle Paul explains to us in this sentence filled with praise to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for the display of God’s glorious grace through the finished work of Christ on the cross. Paul says, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. |
