Before we enter into our verse today, I would first like to explain how we know what is being preached to be true. There are many in the world today who are seeking out reality. What is the real purpose or meaning in life? The library is filled with volumes of book which state the philosophies that many men and women have developed through life based on observation and experience. Most of what is taught in the world is developed from man-centered thinking. Man tries to look up at the stars and understand the design of the constellations and explores the deep recesses of the universe with the most powerful telescopes in the world. However, man can only see in part. One man gave an illustration about looking at a house. It doesn’t matter where you stand on the ground looking at a house, the most you will see is three corners. You can run around and around the house, but you will only be able to see three corners at a maximum. There will always be the fourth corner which will be hidden from view. This is where much of the world speculates about the purposes and plans of existence and of God. However, God has revealed Himself through general revelation. General revelation includes creation, history, and the conscience within man. The second form of revelation involves special revelation. Because humankind is finite and God is infinite, we cannot know or fellowship with him unless he reveals himself to us. The major way he has spoken to us clearly is the Word of God. This provides us with a view from God’s perspective. When we look at life, God will always have the best angle and it would be wise to listen to Him.
