Today were going to look at some scriptures pertaining to witchcraft. In 1 Samuel 15:23 we learn that Saul was rejected by God because he had tried to communicate with the dead prophet Samuel. In 1 Chronicles, Paul tells us that Saul died because he consulted a necromancer. 2 Kings 21;6 Teaches us that witchcraft provokes God to anger. Galatians 5:19 lists witchcraft as a work of the flesh and that those who practice these works of the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God. Revelation 22:14 and Revelation 21:8 show us that sorcerers will have their part in the lake of fire. This is all bad news! What about the love of God? Romans 5:5-9 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (6) For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (7) For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. (8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (9) Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Notice that both the Father and Christ love us. God is a righteous and holy God and must judge sin. We have sinned and deserve to be punished. Christ took the punishment that we deserve! He died for us and paid the price that we owe for our works. Listen to the Youth Apologetics Training podcast today to hear more.
