In so doing, he Prepares His Disciples, He is Pressed in Gethsemane, He is Persecuted by the Establishment and He is Preserves His Errant Child, Peter. Disciples were stumbled (fell) when they fled, the Lord Himself fell in the Garden, the world's system fell when it laid hands on Him and Peter fell in the denial. None of it was pretty. But all of it reminds us to "watch".
