Paul identifies our happy expectation, that we shall bear the image of the heavenly man. The obstruction is that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Therefore we anticipate a glorious transformation, in which we are instantaneously changed into the image of Jesus, made fit for the glory which lies ahead. This nerves us and stirs us for the service which we now render in anticipation of the glory to come.
