In this study of the message of the Book of Lamentation we consider the great horror that befell the Jewish people when Jerusalem fell and their whole way of life and worship was destroyed by the Babylonian army in 586 BC. Yet in the midst of destruction and death the prophet Jeremiah confesses his unfailing faith in the steadfast love of the Lord and his faithfulness to keep the promises of his covenant and Word. Such is the character of our God that he can be trusted even in the midst of tragedy and heartache.
