Paul continues his long one sentence introduction to his letter to the Ephesians. He is still talking about "Every Spiritual Blessing." In this case, he returns to the idea of God's sovereign election. However, with a little bit of wordplay, he associates God's elective purpose with being made heirs. Our inheritance does not rest on, nor depend on, our feeble and fickle wills. Rather, our inheritance rests on, and depends on, the decree of God who is working out all of history according to His purposes!
