God does not see things the way that we do (Isaiah 55:8-9). He sees the written record of the unseen as more important evidence of eternal things. Luke 24:13-43 bears this out. Jesus takes hours to open the Old Testament to 2 of the "the rest" (v. 9) and ground them in the Scriptures before revealing Himself to them. This speaks volumes regarding God's view of the Scriptural record vs. tangible, visible evidence. We need to wrap our minds and our hearts around this and so embrace the Scriptures as God's ultimate evidence of His person and His work.
