In this sermon, Pastor Paul discusses the principle of continuity vs. discontinuity when relating the Old Testament to the New Testament:
"The question is, 'Does God need to repeat Himself in the New Testament in order for His Old Testament instruction to be valid, or does the Old Testament instruction continue to be valid unless God so indicates? Should we assume some sort of sweeping abrogation of the entire Old Testament? Should we only embrace those portions of the Old Testament repeated in the New?'"
Pastor Paul also discusses the ceremonial and separation portions of the Old Testament Law as fulfilled in Christ, in distinction to the civil case laws of the Old Testament, which are a reflection of God's moral character and are therefore "the best wisdom given by God to man on how a nation is to be governed."
