The main text was taken from the Old Testament book of Nahum 3:1-19. This prophecy comes 100 after Jonah and 100 years prior to the judgment and destruction of the great city of Nineveh.
Nahum is showing his readers in this prophecy that divine judgment is coming. However, with this imminent judgment of the wicked comes deliverance for God's people.
