Columbine .... Aurora, Colorado ... Newtown, Connecticut ... Charleston, South Carolina ... No doubt each and every one of these names and places brings very painful memories to our hearts and to our minds ... and even more so to those whose lives were more personally and profoundly affected by them. Well, were we to travel back in time some 3000 years or so, to simply mention “Ziklag” to King David undoubtedly would have brought pain to his heart, sorrow to his mind, and a far-away look into his eyes ...because what happened at Ziklag and how David dealt with that very personal and painful situation literally affected his entire future and was very profoundly and powerfully used of God to pave the way for his royal reign! Consequently, praise be to God for the fact that we learn a great deal concerning how we can cope with some of the most personally painful situations and sorrowful circumstances of our entire lives, as well as be reminded of the incredible victory which is ours in Christ by very carefully and prayerfully considering How King David Dealt With Ziklag!
