The world is obsessed with novelty, and most of us love and long for newness in some ways. Paul talks about a new creation, far greater and deeper than anything this world has to offer.
We can see here the reality of a new creation - the old passing away, and the new coming. The range of the new creation lies in the fact that all things become new. The root of the new creation is Christ himself - anyone in Christ, but only the one in Christ, is a new creation.
