Zechariah's burdens form the second main section of his prophecy. And like the night vision section, the burdens are introduced with an oracle (a "word" from the Lord). But in this case, the oracle consists of four distinct utterances that together form the larger oracle (chaps. 7-8). As well, this four-fold oracle came to Zechariah as the Lord's response to a question brought to Him by the people of Bethel. This message examines the first of the four oracular "words."
