In our endeavor to be better Christians and to live more holy and separated lives, to overcome temptations and fight the good fight of faith, we tend to become hyper-fixated on our own walk, our own growth, and our focus becomes turned inward. We spend more of our time and our mental efforts attempting to become better versions of ourselves, and in so doing, we forget what Jesus was all about: seeing sinners born again. Because of this, modern Christianity is becoming an anemic, weak, self-centered and self-serving thing instead of a message of hope for sinners and a pathway to deliverance and victory in the life of the hopeless. It's almost as if we have forgotten how to even tell someone about Jesus or why they need him in their life, much less how to even get to Him. |
