In this first message from the Alpha/Omega Conference, held at the Shasta Bible College in Redding, Cal., in March of 2007, Dr. John Whitcomb discusses the shortcomings of the Intelligent Design Movement and progressive creationism, and gives reasons for taking the days of Genesis 1 as literal 24-hour days. He says that most professing Christians take an old-earth view, placing their trust in scientists and compromising with evolutionary teaching instead of simply trusting in the Lord God. "Evolution takes more faith than creation does," says Dr. Whitcomb. "Faith is taking God at His Word because of Who He is. And you don't close your eyes or your mind, or anything to Him. You open up everything. 'Lord speak, Your servant hears You.'" We wish to thank our friends at Shasta for allowing us to broadcast these messages, and trust that God will use them widely. Although the quality of the audio is poor during portions of these first two sermons, we believe that the importance of their content makes them worthy of broadcast here on SermonAudio. May God bless these messages from this unique and informative conference.
