'At the resurrection, believers being raised up in glory, shall be openly acknowledged and acquitted in the day of judgment, and made perfectly blessed in the full enjoying of God to all eternity.' 1. Raised up in glory. A physical resurrection; yet with some changes. 2. Openly acknowledged and acquitted. There will be a general judgement of all people, in which believers will be owned by Christ. 3. Perfectly blessed for ever. 'We know that we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is.' Application: 1. The doctrine of the resurrection is a Christian truth. 2. It is an Old Testament truth. 3. The Christian's great encouragement, though they are despised, condemned and falsely accused in this world, they shall be acknowledged and acquitted on that great Day. 4. A warning to sinners: there is a day of resurrection and judgement. 5. Beware of false asceticism that denies the validity of the body. 6. All who experience the first resurrection shall not suffer the second death.
