Many people thronged the cross of Christ, yet Christ was a dying alone. Though many people stood by, and the Lord's disciples had withdrawn from Him, He had two individuals closest and nearest to His heart; John and Jesus' mother. Despite the scene around the cross being – terrible, and torturous, it was yet triumphant. The Savior's compassionate care, is portrayed again, by His gaze and His charge directed toward Mary and John, which was obeyed. The take home is, Jesus, though He was at the precipice of redemptive death, He still honored dutifully, His mother.
