In this message, Pastor John reveals how the early church took care of each other and everyone's needs were met. He also shows God's response to those who lied to Him. The goal of this message is to draw each one who hears it to become more like the early followers of Christ. As the number of followers grew, they made sure everyone’s needs were met. It is written that they all felt the same way about everything. They did not think their possessions were their own. Instead, they shared everything they had with each other. They were of one heart and one soul. The Apostles received & distributed money to cover every need. This was the original Caring & Sharing plan. It was a Holy community where everyone was satisfied to have food, clothing & shelter; their needs met. The text also reveals a contrast through a couple who were dishonest with their finances. They decided to cheat & they kept some of what they had pledged. This cost them dearly. It proves the point that believers sometimes miss: sin brings consequences! We might like to excuse sin in the church these days, but God does not excuse it. It was the fear of the Lord that established One Heart and One Soul in the early church. We can seek this same fear to build one heart and one soul in the church today. This message is not for the faint in heart. It brings biblical truth to bear upon the conscience of all who hear it. Listen if you dare.
