Genesis 22 is a remarkable passage. The sincerity of Abraham's faith and obedience is intense. Genesis 22 is part of the reason that Abraham in called the Father of believers.

In today's passage Abraham is told to offer his son Isaac as a whole burnt offering. Although almost incomprehensible, Abraham proceeds to do what he's told. All this pictures for us the sacrifice of God's only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus. Heart wrenching.
