We will not have done any preparation for anything and will be forced to deal with events as they happen instead of using foresight to prepare for their arrival. It is clearly not the way Jesus expected His disciples (and us), to handle the future that He took the time to tell them (and us) about. How many times did Jesus say, "Do not be alarmed"? (Matthew 24:6).
