Peter is writing to first century Christians who are under great strain with their lives at stake. He urges them to 'be ready always to give an answer' to those who ask them about their love for the Lord.
Our faith is reasonable and the truths of scripture are revealed to us such that we may believe. Can we explain the glorious hope that lies within us? Do we hold fast to the 'hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast'?
