Paul undoubtedly wondered what kind of effect his first epistle to the Corinthians would have on them. Would they respond positively - or would they respond carnally and side with Paul's enemies in repudiating the gospel. When Titus returned to Paul he gave Paul a very encouraging report as to what that response had been. They had taken Paul's epistle to heart and had applied the measures that Paul had prescribed. In 2Cor. 7:11 we see how earnest they were in applying those corrective measures. In this study we consider the good effects that godly sorrow is meant to produce in our lives.
