The only One whose curses or blessings shall matter in all time and eternity is God Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth.
Curses by man are nothing in comparison. They may or may not come to pass.
Trusting in man and therefore departing from The Lord is one of the reasons for God's curse.
Yes, this has implications for this (or any) election year. Do we trust in mere mortals i.e. political candidates, social movements or government for deliverance from hard times? If we do, we earn God's curse.
