Even though Jonah was a believer, who was serving God as one of His prophets, he made a very poor decision based on his personal prejudice, and ended up doing God's will the hard way. You cannot resist God and come out victorious - He will always accomplish His purposes. Jonah thought he could live his life without obeying God's commands, but he was wrong. Chapter two of the book of Jonah is a personal testimony of how God taught Jonah to fear and obey. A blind date with a great fish led to a very bumpy cruise. God used tribulation to get Jonah's attention and redirected his heart to God and his body to Ninevah. God creatively allowed Jonah to live, and to have a second opportunity to do His perfect will.
