The Bible is a book about judgment. From the earliest chapters to the very last pages we have descriptions of God's judgment against people because of their rebellion against Him.
In the Garden of Eden, after God created Adam and Eve and commissioned them to multiply and subdue the earth, they sinned against Him and incurred His judgment resulting in their being banished from the Garden.
God's judgment always comes in response to our sin. Yet, it is easy to go about our lives without thinking much about divine judgment because it is easy not to take our sin very seriously. Some people don't want to think about their sin at all. Some may not even believe that they sin—really sin—against God.
Yet, Scripture teaches that everyone sins. And as a result, everyone is liable to the judgment of God. In our last study through Romans we looked at 2:1-11 where Paul teaches that God will justly judge everyone. In this study we take up with verses 12-16 where we will see that God's judgment of everyone will be fair because everyone has sinned!
