God gets very blunt about their sin to explicitly show how ugly it is. He gave them over to their "lovers" and used these lovers to judge them.
If you play with sin and dabble with sin, it soon takes root and you don't even know it. When it takes root, it soon produces bad fruit. The root of the problem in these two sisters wicked actions was they were not trusting in God, but were trusting in other people, military powers, etc. Our minds must be renewed by getting in the Word of God.
Pull the weeds of sin in your life every day. Roots go deeper and deeper and they're harder to get rid of the more you let them stay.
