Great Sermon on intentional sins! The phylacteries are from Deut. 6:8 - I'm sure you know that the Jews didn't come up with them by themselves.
I love how this chapter points to Jesus, thank you for unpacking it. I have a question though:
Numbers 15:30-31 says to utterly cut off the intentional sinner, so why didn't the people know what to do with the man who picked up sticks on the Sabbath? Weren't the people also sinning by not obeying and bringing him back into the camp? Also it doesn't say they stoned him on the Sabbath, but if it was, wouldn't that be considered working on the Sabbath? And if so, how would this point to Jesus?
