Laziness In the Household 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12;3:6-15 We Are to Work and Not Be Lazy. Many people today have come to believe that the world owes them a living. That they somehow have a right to have everything that will give them pleasure and happiness. Socialistic politicians have led people to believe this, to buy their votes. Socialism has been taught in our schools and colleges, causing millions of people to be hopelessly corrupted and messed our Households across America. The Bible certainly teaches that work is a virtue, and that laziness is a sin. If you can work, we should be thankful, and work hard. Not everyone can work, and we should try to take care of them the best that we can. Laziness is a thief. It robs you of time, potential, personal progress. The person who thinks the world owes him a living may simply be too lazy to work for it. On the other hand, hard work and diligence can save a person from the ravages of laziness. Someone has said, "Aspiration points us to the proper goal but it perspiration that gets us there." From the very beginning God called on man to work. We all need to do our work in a way that it glorifies God. God wants us Christians to be a faithful worker and a witness to others by example. No longer live for yourself but for Christ.
