During our study of the apostle Paul's letter to the churches in Galatia, in the first four chapters, and part of chapter five, we have learned about the dangers of false teaching and the consequences for those who teach a false gospel.
We have read about Paul's anger and frustration toward those who teach falsely, and toward those who waver in their faith and submit to false teaching.
Now, beginning in our text for today, Paul addresses every Christian personally. For some, Paul's message may be convicting since it is a warning, and for some, his message may be offensive.
If anyone finds the teachings in God's word offensive, the remedy is to examine themselves closely and honestly and compare their thoughts, speech, and behaviors to God's will for their lives.
