Last week we began a short series on the subject, “In Defense of the Gospel.” The biblical gospel is under constant assault by the enemy. The biblical gospel undergoes decay and deterioration unless there is a concerted effort to defend and affirm it before our people. In today’s message we show that the major content of the biblical gospel is the good news of the arrival of the Kingdom of God, realized through Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. I would assert, however, that the gospel of the kingdom is not a major message of many who claim to preach “the gospel.” Today’s sermon is in my estimation extremely important for us to understand and embrace. May our Lord help us all to be thoroughly biblical in our proclamation so that our Lord will bless His message to the conversion and transformation of sinners into saints.
