So far in our study through Genesis, we seen the story of Creation, the story of Garden of Eden, the story of the first marriage, the story of the Fall, and today we will see another story – the story of the First Salvation.
As we look at this account, I will point out 5 components that are true of every salvation story.
1) Grasping the Reality of Your Sin and its Consequences Every person's salvation story starts with the Reality of Sin. Before one can be saved, he or she must come to grips with the reality of their sin. You must reach that crisis point in your life when you realize that you have sinned against your holy Creator and you rightly stand condemned before God. 2) Promise of Salvation We saw last week that in the midst of handing out severe judgments, God also gave a promise of salvation to Adam and Eve. 3) Faith – v20 4) Atonement - v21 5) Ongoing Effects of Sin as we long for ultimate salvation– v23-24
