Paul begins chapter five calling on believers to mimic Christ and walk in love. He advocates a decisive break from sin, a pursuit of holiness and a wise use of our time. For this we need to know and do God's will and be filled with the Spirit. Being filled with the Spirit not as mystical as often thought, but instead is simply living life in light of the truth. When we are filled with the Spirit we will speak to one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. In writing to the Colossians, Paul referred to this as letting the word of Christ dwell in us richly such that we teach and admonish one another.
