While they can be a good tool to summarize beliefs, they can also be dangerous when elevated to an authoritative level on par with Scripture. This message looks especially at the First and Second London Baptist Confessions (1646 and 1689) and offers a comparison and contrast. While the 1646 Confession was rooted in a defense against charges of being 'anabaptist.' The 1689 was almost a carbon copy of the Presbyterian Westminster Confession of Faith. Differences on matters of Mosaic and Moral Law, as well as the Sabbath are discussed.
