Alfred Ackley's famous hymn "He Lives" contains the sentimental, yet theologically false idea that we know Jesus lives because He lives within our hearts.
The problem is, this is the same thing that is said at every funeral, that our deceased loved ones will always live in our hearts.
While it is true that Jesus lives in our hearts, our hearts are not always reliable in matters of truth.
The reason we know that Jesus lives is because God's Word has told us so. The witnesses' testimonies are recorded, and God has certified to us that our Lord Jesus rose again, to live forevermore.
