Paul's second missionary journey finds him in Acts 17 travelling with Silas and Timothy to the city of Amphipolos (an ancient form of 'Circlevill') and on to Thessolonica. Paul would later write two letters to this church.
Paul would enter every synagogue and show from texts like Psalm 22, Isaiah 53, Daniel 9, etc., that Jesus Christ IS the Messiah promised of God in Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 7:14 & 9:6, etc.
Paul made much of Jesus--His death and His resurrection. This is the Gospel.
From Thessalonica, Paul travells to Berea where the Berean believers put his every word to the test of Scripture (see verse 11). Luke's account declares that these Berean were 'more noble' than the Thessalonian believers because of the fact that they tested Paul by the Old Testament Scriptures in their possession.
Trouble follows the man of God wherever he goes. If people don't hate you, you're not a man of God.
