As we pick up in our study of 1st Corinthians in chapter 9, Paul provides us with the reason he brought up his own example which we looked at last time in v1-14. He has not waxed eloquently so that the church might be guilt tripped into financially supporting him… rather he hopes to lead the Corinthians to employ their freedom and think about their 'rights' as he does. They must learn to submit their freedoms to the control and direction of love.
