It doesn’t take much effort to be a man. By that, I mean a person has roughly a 50-50 shot at being born male. But in God’s economy, a man is not merely an adult male. It takes a miraculous work of saving grace to be a man of God -- a man whose life reflects God’s nature to his family, his co-workers and neighbors. "But you, O man of God… pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness” (1 Timothy 6:11, NKJV). God’s men are recognizable. They shun self-fulfillment, chase after God’s purposes, and openly engage in battle for His Kingdom. They live toward their eternity with Christ. This message is for Father’s Day, and we’ll be celebrating the example of godly men in our congregation as we consider, “A charge to God’s men.”
