Sermon: The Biblical Injunction of Giving to the Lord.
Points: I. The Accusation of the Prophet II. The Evidence of the Prophet III. The Challenge of the Prophet
This message continues the series of sermons on the basic elements of worship. Over the course of this series, we will work our way through the liturgy that we ordinarily follow during public worship.
This morning's message is on the subject of giving. While this can be a fairly tense subject, it is really as deep and wide as the word of God. When OT sacrifices were made, genuine believers were honoring the Lord with what they had.
Today it is the same... each of God's people come and offer to Him the worship and praise he deserves. The principle continues that we are to not come empty handed but share the burden and help each other.
Giving or tithing is an act of worship that we should be able to act upon with a joyful heart... as we render to the Lord a token of all the goodness he has shown to us.
