There are numerous puritan authors on the Christian Warfare - Ambrose, Gurnall, Downame... but fewer that are this detailed on the temptations themselves. In fact, this 451 page book by Gilpin may have no equal in its field. Note: It is amazing how familiar our Puritan forefathers were with death bed scenes of their own children.
