With the Gentile question resolved, God had providentially set the stage for reengaging the gospel ministry to the nations. So, after a season of ministry in Antioch, Paul was moved with the desire to go out once again. His initial motivation was to visit and encourage the churches established on his first mission, but his travels would see a vast enlargement of the gospel's witness in the world. But God had one more providential work to accomplish before Paul was ready to act upon his desire. When this work was complete, God would have two missionary teams depart from Antioch rather than one.
