Our text will be Psalm 127, where we find Jehovah as builder and guardian; we find fathers as warriors; and we find children as arrows. The text presses upon us that parenting must be both deliberate and purposeful. We must not fail to notice the vision that is set before us at the end of the psalm. Without such a vision, I fear our parenting will miscarry. Our text also sets before us words that are meant to grab our attention - unless, vain, sorrows, builds, guards, heritage, reward, warrior, ashamed, enemies.
