Regardless of the topic – abortion, transgenderism, food, drink — we are to think about all things from a biblical point of view. Scripture must infuse and inform our opinions. The same is true about thinking correctly about money and wealth.
In this lesson, we learn that wealth is a blessing because it is from God — he is the one who gives us the power to get wealth. That power comes from his providential gifts: talents, connections, career choices, and financial decisions.
Furthermore, God uses wealth for his purposes, including to reveal his goodness and generosity, to provide an occasion for us to give thanks, provide for our needs, make restitution, and bless others.
He also uses money for our sanctification. No matter how much or little we have, it is a reminder to depend upon our ultimate provider and be sober-minded about the dangers in the money world.
