Useful reminders Neo evangelicalism is not a denomination. As Dr. Suan Yew Quek states, one can be part of a fundamentalist, conservative or reformed setting and be a neo-evangelical in spirit.
Neo-evangelicalism postulates: 1. Evangelism is more important than separation, 2. The church should attract the world, and especially the youth, into the churches by giving them what they feel happy with, 3. We should try to make the Gospel more acceptable, or less offensive, by using methods that appeal, as drama/music, or services that the world needs, as Mum and Toddlers services, etc. 4. Hymnology should be replaced or be aided by modern songs, 5. Church committees should decide matters on the basis of what the majority wants, 6. Middle-line compromise, acceptance and popularity are preferable to contending for the faith, 7. Godliness comes second to success and pragmatism.
Neo-evangelicalism started on the basis of reverting the concept of separation, reckoning that the church was too rigid and strict to be accepted by the world. Its motto summarised : ‘Let’s unite to evangelise the world and forget godliness when it divides.’

Great lessons. This was a good and useful message for me. Yes, God call us to separate from compromise and to preach the Gospel for the salvation of sinners. Saved people will be salt and light in this world.
