Building on the practical skills provided in Part 4 of the Family Discipleship Seminar (Lusaka, Zambia), Rev. Mahon proceeds to define the “big five” behaviors to teach children as well as those behaviors specifically condemned in Scripture and about which parents are forewarned to discipline against. These items are in contrast to the areas on which parents typically focus but about which the Bible is silent (i.e. thumb sucking, bed-wetting, etc.). As always, the goal is the success of the child as expressed in Ephesians 6:3 through a proactive stance on discipline by the parent.
