A thankless Christian cannot be a Christian. A man has a better chance of being alive without a beating heart than for a person to be a Christian who is thankless. I. We are commanded to give thanks. This is God's will for you! Now think about its significance. What is God's will for you right now in Christ Jesus? Well, "give thanks in all circumstances." II. Believers have every reason to be thankful in all circumstances. III. If you are an unthankful person, then you are either entitled, embittered, superstitious, self-righteous, or dejected by your sins. True faith makes a man humble and not entitled; being forgiven will enable him to forgive and not be embittered; genuine conversion enables him to see God as a God of holiness and grace and through faith he will not live superstitiously, being saved by God's grace will humble him and self-righteousness will melt away and because he has faith, he will have confidence and not be dejected knowing that Christ's death can wash away all his sins. Such a person will be thankful in all circumstances because he has so much for which he is thankful!
