Some misconstrue John 3:16 because they don't follow the Master's line of instruction. John 3:14-15 points back to Numbers 21:4-9 and confims that man has invoked the wrath of God by his sin. Man is helpless to 'save' himself from God's wrath. God (by His great love ) provides the remedy to sin and death in the 'desert' and on the Cross. The sacrifice of His son Jesus on the cross is the only remedy. Look to Him (by faith) and live. Reject Him and die.
